Taeho Kgil is a Corporate Vice President at Samsung Research heading the System Security and Data Privacy Lab. He is responsible for delivering innovative security technologies to Samsung’s devices and services. His team spearheads several security and privacy initiatives including Samsung’s Tizen OS Platform Security, Host based Network Intrusion Prevention and Data Protection Technologies. Before joining Samsung, Taeho held multiple security leadership positions at Intel, Visa and a startup called MagicCube working on building next generation security solutions for Platforms and Services. Taeho played a core part in implementing Visa’s Payment Tokenization Service that powers ApplePay, AndroidPay and SamsungPay. He has also led several initiatives in Intel and Visa to build out next generation security for Intel Architecture Platforms and Visa’s Payment Services. Taeho earned his B.S degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University and MS and PhD in computer science from the University of Michigan.
