Host Region

Silesia – the power of diversity

The Silesian Voivodeship is one of the most interesting regions of the Central Europe. It is a place where the beauty of nature and the spirit of big cities mix in perfect proportions, where in harmony different traditions and human fates interweave.

Our roots reach out the industrial history of the region, which for many years was the main element of changes. Industrial traditions have strongly fitted into the Silesian identity, which is reminded by the unique monuments of the old industry that create highly unusual touristic product – the Industrial Monuments Route. The Historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry is a part of it- the object that in 2017 was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Route is the most interesting trail of industrial tourism in Poland and one of the most interesting one in Europe.

The Silesian Voivodeship despite its high level of urbanisation is a very green region. In the heart of the agglomeration the Silesian Park is situated which is the biggest park in Europe. This green island located in the centre of the biggest Metropolis in Poland, is a place of recreation and leisure activities, but also it is a place of cultural, entertainment and sports events that are organized on the legendary Silesian Stadium.

Therefore, we invite You to Silesia, a place with a positive energy!
